Based on their guidance, we tested over 30 socks at home for six weeks to see how well they performed. The Best Materials for Socks for Sweaty Feet

Maryland-based podiatrist Priya Parthasarathy, DPM, suggests pairs made with a blend of different materials labeled as "moisture-wicking" or "increased ventilation." While these qualities might not completely prevent your feet from sweating, they’ll help control any unwelcome side effects.

Parthasarathy says to avoid 100% cotton socks since they absorb moisture without wicking it away from the skin, which could worsen problems. Lobkova adds that cotton can also lead to blistering.

Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, can be easily treated, yet less than 40% of people seek medical care. A podiatrist can help control this condition by prescribing special antiperspirants, prescription creams and wipes, nerve-blocking medications, Iontophoresis, and/or Botox injections, Parthasarathy says.

Though we think they’re a little too thick to wear while running, they’re perfect for hiking and cycling.

While the sticker price may be in the same range, you get three more high-performance running socks. They are soft, cushiony, and comfortable, and our feet never felt sweaty, itchy, or wet when we wore them. We just wish they were a little more breathable.
